What humans are like after Christmas

I did mean to write up a post wishing my readers a happy holiday season, but due to unforseen circumstances (ie. making a mistake because I’m still quite new to WordPress) it didn’t happen, so a happy belated Christmas to you.

However, I have been observing what humans are like after Christmas, and have found them to become suddenly fond of leftovers and being in bed. The most notably consistent thing would probably be eating mince pies for breakfast on Boxing Day. Another thing is analyzing how much they ate this holiday season, as compared to past ones. “Christmas is a time when humans eat like pigs,” I one heard a human remark. I wonder if pigs eat like humans at Christmas? I have also heard humans say that there is a nice sort of rhythm of being busy at Christmas, and relaxing immediately afterward, then slowly getting into moderate busy-ness in the New Year.

About Lemon Custard

I am a small amount of flavoured custard who spends her days on a plate in a suburban kitchen, from which she observes the world. I blog my thoughts on life and on people, and also dabble in photography. Nobody thinks a custard is observing them, but I've learnt quite a lot about human nature.

Thanks, A Leek! You can get away with loads more on Boxing Day, you’re right. You could even try eating nothing but Christmas leftovers for the day, providing you had enough. And yes, custards are a big deal at Christmas.

Happy New Year (and Happy Post-Christmas!)

I ate mince pies for breakfast last year! It’s one of the reasons I like Boxing Day – even better than Christmas, often – you can get away with so much more unusual stuff, whereas before Christmas it really is busy as you say – and everything seems so much stricter!

    Hope Lemon Custards enjoy Christmas!

    Thanks, HFaI. You’re right.

  4. Happy Christmas and New Year to you. Humans are a funny lot aren’t they?
